I can’t lie. When somebody with tens of thousands of followers On Instagram who also has hundreds of photographers in her inbox daily trying to do a photo shoot with her tells me that she would love to work with me, I do get nervous when it’s time to shoot. 

I wonder why out of all the people who want to shoot witH her why would she want to shoot with me. And I am thinking “don’t f this up” 

But then 15 minutes into the shoot… you realize that no matter how many followers she has, she’s just a “regular“ person who is equally surprised and flattered that you want to shoot with her.  

The irony is…I’ve shot people with 6000 Followers who were the most cocky(“look at me now” attitudes) people that I’ve ever met in my life. conversely, I’ve shot  people with 50k or 500k followers who acted like they were the lucky ones because I wanted to shoot with them.

I don’t know what the magic number is to make people hella cocky.  Or what the magic number is to make people realize that they are the same person as they were when they had 16 followers.  

Long story short…stay humble.  Have fun. Life is too short.  We only get to do what we do for so long and then we are replaced by a younger generation who can do what we do…but better.  So just enjoy it!
