The original Star Spangled Banner was a racist pome wtitten 117yrs b4 it was adopted as the National Anthem in 1931. The Francis Scott Key of whom family had slave plantations had a strong dislike for Africa (Black aka Brown) People.

Key’s full poem actually has a third stanza part of which few of us have ever heard. In it, he openly celebrates the murder of slaves.
