All protests aren’t violent

Yesterday there were protests going on. Let’s get 3 things straight:

1. If you put a negative connotation with protesting, stop. All protests aren’t violent nor do they have the intention of being violent. And protestors aren’t trouble makers. Oh yea and most protestors have jobs.

2. Just because we are black doesn’t mean we all protest.

3. Regarding social injustice. This isn’t something new for me. I’ve BEEN upset since I was a child when I watched my brother get pulled over countless times for just being a black man. I’ve BEEN upset when I watched my mom being harassed my cops for being a black woman. I’ve BEEN upset when I was 18 in the loop hanging out but was told to leave because I was loitering next to the old white men who were also ‘loitering’ but they could stay. Oh yea and I was threatened about being arrested if I didn’t leave a street which is a tourist attraction. I’ve BEEN upset 5 years ago when I was handcuffed for hanging out on Wash Ave which is another tourist attraction for literally having fun SOBER but apparently I was insubordinate and was almost arrested if it weren’t for friends speaking up for me.

I’ve BEEN upset and I’ve BEEN active from Ferguson to my son’s school. This is nothing new STL. Open up your pretty brown eyes and see that.

Last night a young black man was having dinner but bc protestors were near and he was black he got his head and face slammed on the table, in the street and the police car as he was arrested for nothing. Smh
