My name is Taylor Cathey, AKA INKED LIPS, I am 22 years old, and I am from ‪Rochester NY.‬ I am an aspiring African American poetry/fiction/ blog writer and radio personality. I was born African American and Puerto Rican.  Sadly I am no model, but I’ve been told a time or two that I photograph well and have a unique look. If I could describe my features, I would say my eyes are hypnotic, sort of like a cats, and I have tiny plump lips, along with a curvy figure and crochet locs.  Yes, I do enjoy whipping my long black and blonde curls back and forth everyday.

I began writing poetry in 2016.  Since graduating from my college program, my writing has grown beyond what I thought it was capable of, and I have been advised by close friends and family to seek more avenues of publication. My style of poetry revolves around Feminism, History, Black Lives Matter, Self Love, & Emotions. The most powerful topic that drives my pen is Black Lives Matter, and Feminism.

I have written three poems about Black Lives Matter. My ideas formulate from stories I’ve read online, to racial issues that happened on my campus.  My work with Blog Talk  began in 2017. I was discovered by Chester Roberson, the host of the show “WOLF HOURS”  in a poetry group called: THE OFFICIAL BLACK POETRY CAFE.  On the air I am known as, INKED LIPS. I am currently a performer on BLOG TALK Radio Stations: SAYDAT with Kevin Smith and Milissa Yelverton, and WOLF HOURS with Angela Patterson, Chester Roberson, and David Motte.  I do have recorded work from 2017’s WOLF HOURS & SAY DAT radio shows. You could say I am a  freelance writer.  I started writing short stories and erotica In the summer of 2017 with help and editorial work from writer, Robert Gibson. My motivation behind my fiction writing is to take the reader by surprise. Thrillers and Drama have always been my favorite genre of writing .I’ve done collaboration pieces with three poets from BLOG TALK RADIO’s WOLF HOURS. My top erotica pieces I have read on the air are:  LA’ ROSE, & a collaboration with published writer, Tristan McKinnon, titled: “What Best Friends Share”.   I wrote a short drama about betrayal , called: Can’t Trust Em*.  In January of 2018, I was offered an opportunity to partner and write a screenplay with the manager of SAY DAT RADIO, aspiring author, Kevin Smith and I work as an intern with an online magazine called: SHE PRAISE MAGAZINE RADIO.

This magazine/radio show is trying to help young men and women who are Artist, Fashion Designers, Musicians, Actors, and in business get recognition. In return, they help us build our business. I am passionate about the work I am doing with this company because I am able to work on my own time, help men and women get the opportunities they want, and run a blog.

The next project I have coming up with SHE PRAISE MAGAZINE  will be in the first month of April. Where I’ll be interviewing R&B singer RAJA, about his new single “Island Gyal”.  Aside from trying to become a great writer, I love to go shopping, travel, read books, listen to music, spend time with my friends and family, and explore new  fashion trends. I just want to say writing is a gift and I hope to share my talent with the world and help other aspiring authors and business owners while doing it.  My latest goal is to get my radio show “LADY INK RADIO” and blog “INKED LIPS BLOGDOM” more followers, guests, and attention.
