Kenneka Jenkins

We lose one so precious a piece of melanin dies.
Now you’ll fly forever in the universe in our unforgotten minds,
Save a place for me with my ancestors when it’s time.
You became a moment when I never knew your name,
Now, Kenneka Jenkins, you seem just like my daughter all the same.

I promise I won’t look at the picture of your death,
Your beautiful smile is all in my soul that’s left.
I hear the echo of your laughter and never listened to your voice,
And I love you like a daughter by choice.
Overall the pain in this society I will love my daughters more,
And it was you who gave me the power to remember what a father is for.
You became a moment in life with no one else to blame,
Now, Kenneka Jenkins, you seem just like my daughter all the same.

I wish your whole family could see this poem,
The power of you has touched millions in many forms.
The birds are singing softly because my mother know your name,
Beautiful and black you will always be proclaimed.
A night of sleep I shall have can get bad sometimes,
Thinking about what would I do if your blood was mine?
You became a moment never to be ashamed,
Now, Kenneka Jenkins, you seem just like my daughter all the same.

Death will be but a pause in the spirit world,
And you will always be your mother precious little girl.
And this I know because this might sound a little crazy,
But in the spirit world, I hear my mother still call me “baby.”
My poetry will be yours and yours and yours some more,
The real reason I feel like my poems are for.
You became a moment when my poetry was acclaim,
Now, Kenneka Jenkins, you seem just like my daughter all the same.

I wish I could have been there to protect you from harm,
But you help me put up my protected father alarm.
I keep hearing a voice that says, “Grieve not for me”.
What’s beautiful is that I say, “My love for you is free.”
My mind is at ease while writing this poem for you,
Moments like this remind me why I do the things I do.
You became a moment you will never hear “ whatshisname.”
Now, Kenneka Jenkins, you seem just like my daughter all the same.

I promise you I will continue traditions of writing poetry,
I promise you I will always love your memories for free.
I promise you God’s garden must be beautiful with you as a seed,
For I hear the universe echo “Kenneka Jenkins is all I need.”
I promise you joy to hear you laugh will always echo in my ear,
A sign that somewhere your spirit is near.
You became a moment when your name will always be proclaimed,
Now, Kenneka Jenkins, you seem just like my daughter all the same… ..((WRITTEN BY THE AWAKEN ONE………….ASE!!)……..Written By: PATRICK HORNSBY…… All Rights Reserved ©®U…/10/20/2017….
