BLACK MAN

A young black man around the age of 19

Was walking on the street when he notices a hysterical scene

A small asian man was on the floor fighting for his life

While a tall blonde lady stood over him bandishing a sharp kitchen knife

The young black man tried to get the situation in order

So he held down the lady and tried to take weapon from her

When non black passerbys saw what was goin on

They jumped to conclusions and thought the black man was the one in wrong

Stereotypes dictacted that the black man had to be irrational

Media propaganda, newspapers and lack of facts indicate that every black mans a criminal

People fear black men and think they’re so dangerous

Black men are living a world that deems them subnormal and intellectual useless

Fierce, strong, angry, mean,

crazed animalistic barbaric fied

No love no intellect no decorum no sense

Criminal minds and brutality intense

Jamain, jamal, akeem, Tyrone

Rasheed, Nathan, Tupac, Jerome

Delroy, Leon, Meko, Femi

Marquis, Tunde, Shola, Remi

The truth is this system marked you since the day you were born

You’ll never have a bed of roses just a million thorns

Walking down the streets ladies clutch their purses and look at you in scorn

Your mothers tried to warn you but you can’t escape and too often systematically proceed to get mentally torn

Media paints a lopsided picture of you

Said you were good for nothing a failure so no respect is due

They’re less likely to highlight the good you do

Jus the bad causing people that jus don’t know to look down on you

They said you’re a

Drug dealer, murderer, robber rapist

Radical, psycho, badman, sadist

Gangster, yardie, crackhead, Thug

womaniser, fraudster, Pimp, scrub

Pressured to be tough by peers and media image

Stifled from growth and intellectual pillaged

Lies and distrust magnify stress

Causing your mental health to be in distress

Is it maybe that your

Misunderstood, Desired, underestimated

Strong, loved, complicated

Unappreciated, confused, loving and kind

Character, style looks so sublime

Ray Charles, Malcolm x, Mohammed Ali,

Tupac shakur, Samuel sharp, Marcus Garvey

Garrett Morgan, bob Marley, Jesse Jackson,

Martin Luther king, Paul bogle, Denzel Washington

Black men are the fathers of civilization

Inventors, fathers, scribes, scholars of education

Black men led powerful kingdoms and empires in the motherland

Trading with Asia and the Americas way before slave chains weighted down our hands

Olduvai gorge in east Africa is where they found the first human remains

That means the founders of civilization shared the blood running through black veins

If you educate yourself you’ll find Black men have changed the face of the world we live in today

But if you choose to remain miseducated you’ll only succumb to the lies and hype on black men the media continue to spray
